PARISH EPIPHANY PARTY FIESTA PARROQUIAL POR LA EPIFANIA Although the Solemnity of the Epiphany will be kept on January 2nd, OLPH will hold a Parish Epiphany Party after the 10:30am Mass on the following Sunday, January 9th, feast of the Baptism of the Lord. Pizza will be provided. Please help by bringing a side dish or dessert. The party will include family games, singing and other activities, including the traditional Rosca de Reyes, a circular crown-shaped cake or bread that is garnished with the “jewels” of fruits and nuts. The word “Epiphany” comes from the Greek word that means “to show”. The Epiphany marks the arrival of visitors, identified in Scripture as the three magi or wise men, who came to Bethlehem bearing gifts for the newborn king Baby Jesus on the Twelfth night (the last night of the twelve days of Christmas). Bethlehem is where Jesus was born and first “showed” himself to the world.
